Alberni District Teachers' Union

The Alberni District Teachers’ Union (ADTU) had outgrown their old website in every way. They did not have a visual brand that reflected who they were, and the information members relied on was buried, scattered and hard to find. We fixed both.

Our Approach

The ADTU represents teachers, TTOC’s and Associated Professionals across School District 70. Their members arrive with a purpose, a form to download, a leave policy to check, a rep to contact. The old site made every one of those tasks harder than it needed to be.

We started by mapping the full scope of their content and building an information architecture that matched the way members actually think. Everything was given a clear home. Then we built a brand around a bridge. A symbol of what ADTU does every day: connecting educators to resources, spanning gaps, and moving people forward. The design and the structure finally matched the organizations strength.

Impact and Results

The ADTU now has a platform worthy of an organization that has been advocating for educators since 1947. Members find what they need without friction. The brand carries the weight of that history. And a site that once worked against the union now works as hard as its members do.
